.. you can catch Led Bib, TrioVD which includes Bradford Lad Chris
Bussey on drums and Europe’s other leading prog-skronk jazzers at WorldService
Project’s first Match & Fuse Festival in London on 15 & 16 June at Dalston N16.
Check out http://worldserviceproject.tumblr.com/
for more details, but an appetite whetter follows. WorldService Project are a
terrific band, often heard in JazzScene ‘halls’, but not satisfied with that
alone (LARF!), they are almost single-handedly blazing a trail around Europe promoting
UK and European Jazz. Quite how they achieve this on a ‘jazzers’ income, even
accounting for their Peter Whittingham Award prize fund, is nothing short of
amazing. To nail the lid completely shut, their festival in June is FREE. So do
try and support these most admirable of young men in their selfless efforts to
raise the profile of jazz. They really are the Muttz Nutz !
